How important is your kick in a triathlon? Well, if you’re doing a 70.3 or full distance ironman then your kick isn’t as important as your pull is.

Because you want to save your energy for the bike and your run leg. So to do that you have to kick smaller and not kick too hard because the fastest way to burn energy in swimming is to kick too hard.  Your arms can continue to turn over, you continue with the high stroke rate for much longer than your legs can.  So if you can put most of the effort in your swim into your pull and your upper body rotation than what you do with your kick, then you’ll find you have a whole lot more energy for the other two legs and in the swim leg itself.

Brenton and Mitch were great to work with at the clinic, Good to get video analysis to work on straight away, practice some new drills and go home knowing what you need to work on.
