In the video I mention the Mastering Freestyle program which is ideal if you’re looking to swim better freestyle. Every time I doa one on one session I get the swimmer to go through the program first. It covers the fundamentals of good freestyle. Most of the drills are based on what Olympic athletes do, but tailored for all levels of swimmers.

If you were referring to the study out of Johns Hopkins, it did NOT claim that the deeper catch is the optimum pull. It only compared the obsolete old S-shaped pull to the straight arm deep pull. They determined the deep pull is better than the S pull, but who didn’t know that already?
Jacki – They showed it created more lift forces which is typically better when sprinting.
